Eligibility
- Completed Bachelor's degree (not more than 6 years old for Masters programs)
- At least 2 years of work experience (for EPOS/development programs)
- Strong academic record (GPA equivalent of 2.5 or better on German scale)

Search the DAAD Scholarship Database (daad.de/en) for programs matching your field and level. Each has specific deadlines and requirements.
Prepare Documents
CV (DAAD format), motivation letter, research proposal (for PhD), academic transcripts, language certificates, and 2 academic recommendation letters.
Apply via DAAD Portal
Create an account on the DAAD Portal and upload all documents. Deadline is typically OctoberโNovember for programs starting the following October.
Selection & Interview
DAAD committee reviews applications. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview (in-person or virtual). Results announced MarchโApril.
